1. Overview

The Ventilation Butterfly Valve (Industrial Air Damper) is a dedicated flow control valve for gas, flue gas and ventilation duct systems. Different from material discharge valves such as flap valves and rotary airlock valves, this valve is designed for gas medium regulation and cutoff instead of solid bulk materials. The central disc rotates within the duct cross-section to adjust airflow volume, wind pressure and pipeline on-off state. With thin-walled streamlined structure, it brings minimal flow resistance, solves wind volume imbalance and flue gas leakage problems in ventilation pipelines, and is the core matching component for dust removal, industrial ventilation and flue gas treatment systems.

2. Working Principle

The valve body is flange-connected or welded into the circular/rectangular ventilation duct. The driving actuator drives the central valve disc to rotate 0°~90° around the central shaft. When the disc is parallel to the pipeline, the duct is fully open with minimum wind resistance; when rotated to 90°, the disc completely blocks the duct to cut off airflow. By adjusting the rotation angle, the effective ventilation area is changed to realize stepless regulation of air volume and flue gas flow. The shaft end adopts multi-layer sealing structure to prevent external air leakage and internal flue gas overflow.
