
1. Overview
The Rotary Airlock Valve (Star Discharger / Star Valve) is a key auxiliary equipment for bulk solid handling, dust collection and pneumatic conveying systems. Different from flap valves for intermittent discharging and slide gate valves for pipeline cutoff, this equipment realizescontinuous quantitative discharging + reliable air locking simultaneously. The star-shaped impeller rotates cyclically inside the sealed housing, picking up materials from the top inlet and discharging them to the bottom outlet. It effectively blocks internal and external air cross-flow, maintains system negative pressure, and avoids dust leakage and pressure loss. It is the standard matching unit for silo hoppers, dust collector ash hoppers and screw conveyor feeding ports.
2. Working Principle
Material falls into the sealed valve body from the upper hopper inlet and fills the cavity between star impeller blades. The gear motor drives the impeller to rotate at a constant low speed. The filled material is carried downward and discharged from the bottom outlet by gravity. While the impeller rotates, the blade gap always forms a closed seal between the upper negative-pressure chamber and lower atmospheric pipeline. This structure prevents air backflow and pressure leakage, ensuring stable dust removal efficiency and consistent material feeding volume for downstream equipment.
