
1. Overview
The Slide Gate Valve (also named Slide Valve) is a linear motion cut-off valve specially designed for powder, granular and small lump bulk materials. Unlike flap valves for intermittent air-locking discharging and rotary airlock valves for continuous quantitative feeding, this valve is dedicated to full flow cut-off and pipeline isolation. The integral gate plate slides horizontally inside the valve body to completely open or block the material channel, with no flow dead zone and full bore passage when fully open. It is mainly installed at silo bottoms, conveyor inlets and dust discharge pipelines for equipment isolation during maintenance, being an essential auxiliary valve for bulk material conveying systems.
2. Working Principle
The valve body is fixed between the upper and lower flanges of the material pipeline. The manual handwheel, electric actuator or pneumatic cylinder provides horizontal thrust to drive the high-strength gate plate to slide along the precision guide rail. When fully open, the gate plate completely exits the flow channel, realizing unobstructed material passing; when fully closed, the gate plate is tightly pressed against the sealing surface to cut off material flow and block air leakage. The integrated guide structure prevents plate deviation, ensuring stable switching and long-term sealing performance in abrasive material working conditions.
